“This is going to be so cool!” – Kyle Feerick, singer
Kyle put it best. He and his band are one of the 44 bands from around the country who’ve been chosen to perform as part of Summerfest’s Emerging Artists Series (EAS) at this year’s music festival.
This week was the launch party to announce the line-up for EAS, held at one of the coolest radio station/live venue combinations I’ve ever seen! Radio Milwaukee, 88Nine hosted the event inside their converted warehouse that houses their broadcast center, recording spaces, a coffee shop and live performance space.
Full Compass and 88Nine are the main sponsors of the Emerging Artist Series and, according to Peter Adams, marketing and promotions manager with 88Nine, it’s all about giving much-needed exposure to some great bands.
“We want to get some new eyes and ears in front of these bands. For us, it’s about helping Milwaukee’s music scene go to the next level.”
One band, led by Kyle Feerick, is benefiting from this new exposure by the EAS. “I’m excited to be part of it and to play there and to play with all of the musicians I’m playing with!”
Feerick says making it to the EAS stage is a thrill and has this advice for other artists out there trying to catch a break, “Keep playing. Keep playing and play some more. The more you play, the harder you work, the more luck you’ll have.”
The full Summerfest event and the Emerging Artists Series kicks off June 28! You’ll see more from Full Compass Live and 88Nine at Summerfest. Until then, grab your tickets here!
